Messaging app Telegram has announced the integration of a crypto wallet on its platform, developed on the TON blockchain. This move has resulted in a 7% increase in the price of the TON token. The TON Foundation has stated that projects built on the TON blockchain will have priority access to Telegram’s advertising platform. The wallet feature is currently available to users, with a global rollout planned for November. Telegram had initially planned to integrate the TON wallet in 2019 but had to sever ties with the blockchain foundation due to legal issues. The renewed partnership aims to build Web3 infrastructure on the messaging platform and provide a gateway to crypto for all Telegram users.
