Bitrefill founder and CEO Sergej Kotliar explained that the process of buying eSIMs with crypto is simple and eliminates the need to worry about expensive bills from traditional telecom providers. Bitrefill, which was founded in 2014, enables users to live on Bitcoin by purchasing gift cards. The integration with eSIMs specifically targets travelers and holidaymakers who want to avoid using fiat money. This development is particularly beneficial for Bitcoin users in countries like El Salvador, where it can be challenging to solely rely on digital currencies for everyday transactions.
