Gods Unchained, a Web3 game, introduces ‘Sealed Mode’ to replicate the experience of traditional card games

Immutable’s Gods Unchained game has introduced a new tournament mode called “Sealed Mode,” which allows players to build a deck using random cards. This format aims to reward skilled players, regardless of the size or cost of their card collection. To participate, players must pay an entry fee of 15 Gods Unchained ($GODS) tokens, receiving a random selection of three gods and 60 random cards from various Gods Unchained sets. The card pool ensures that viable decks can be built, including a minimum number of low-cost cards. Players must construct a 30-card deck using only the provided cards and cannot use cards from their personal collection. The tournament continues until players either lose three matches or win seven, with better records earning more rewards. Some cosmetic rewards are exclusive to sealed mode and require winning four or more matches. Sealed mode in Gods Unchained is similar to sealed deck tournaments in physical card games like Magic: The Gathering, where players collect cards. In Gods Unchained, each card is represented by a nonfungible token on the Immutable X network. Gods Unchained was one of the first Web3 games released by Immutable, and the company has been working on developing a wallet application called “Passport” and a zkEVM testnet to scale Ethereum for video game players.
