Fireblocks has assisted smart contract wallet UniPass in addressing an account abstraction vulnerability in the Ethereum ecosystem. The vulnerability, found in hundreds of mainnet wallets, could have allowed attackers to take over UniPass wallets and drain their funds. Fireblocks and UniPass worked together to patch the vulnerability through a white hat hacking operation. The issue has been mitigated, and the affected wallets only held small amounts of funds. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has previously highlighted challenges in implementing account abstraction functionality.
