Marieke Flament, the CEO of Near Foundation, has resigned from her position. Chris Donovan, the foundation’s general counsel, will be taking over as the new CEO. Flament did not provide a specific reason for her departure. During her tenure, the daily active user count of Near Protocol grew from 50,000 to 3 million, and its Twitter followers increased from 200,000 to over 2 million. The Near Foundation’s treasury balance is currently estimated to be worth $350 million. Flament’s leadership strategy focused on driving mainstream adoption, supporting grassroots communities, and fostering partnerships with both web2 and web3 players. Near Protocol is currently ranked as the 40th largest cryptocurrency by market cap. In June, Škoda Auto launched a nonfungible token platform on the Near Protocol.
