Base Bootcamp is an eight-week training course offered by the Ethereum layer-2 Base network to turn traditional software developers into blockchain developers. The program is designed for mid to senior level software engineering individuals and is free to attend. Interested students must fill out an application and be accepted to enroll, with less than 20 students accepted per cohort. The program aims to address the lack of onchain developers, with only 0.1% of software developers currently working in Web3. Base Bootcamp provides interactive and collaborative learning, with support from experienced engineers and mentors. Students will have weekly meetings with a mentor, access to a dedicated Discord server, and the opportunity to engage with Coinbase and Base engineers. A deposit of 1 Ether (ETH) is required, which will be returned upon graduation. The lack of qualified Web3 developers is a common issue in the industry, and initiatives like Base Bootcamp aim to bridge this gap.
