Balancer, an Ethereum automated market maker and decentralized finance protocol, has warned that $2.8 million, or 0.42% of its total value locked (TVL), is still at risk following the discovery of a vulnerability on August 22. Users are advised to withdraw their funds if they have connected wallets to affected liquidity provider (LP) pools. Balancer has established a user interface on its website to help users determine if their funds are at risk and recommends unstaking, withdrawing, and unwrapping affected tokens. The vulnerability has not been exploited, but $5.6 million worth of funds were initially at risk. Balancer launched on the Ethereum layer-2 network Optimism in June, and over 98.7% of initially vulnerable liquidity is now deemed safe.
